OPINION – To the residents of our cherished community, thank you for the passion, energy and commitment you bring to shaping our town’s future. Your engagement is vital to our local democracy, and the Town Council values every voice.
However, we must address a pressing concern. Recently, the essential work of governance, the very reason you elected us, has been significantly hindered. Council Meetings, intended as forums for action and decision-making on critical town matters, have been disrupted by procedural interruptions. These disruptions limit our ability to focus on priorities such as economic development, public safety and infrastructure.
Effective governance is our fundamental duty. We can fulfill that responsibility by implementing a temporary operational pause on the “call to the public” portion of council meetings.
