To ignore the risk of urban trails is to pretend that the government and NGOs would never rezone your neighborhood or use eminent domain on unsuspecting people. We must stand guard of communitarianism as individual unalienable rights are being subsumed, or are coming below the rights of the community.

The only reason I found out about the 12 urban trails is I was paying attention in my own local community. I inquired about the metal posts with the bags over them. I researched what seems to be a harmless initiative on behalf of a healthy, lasting environment is exploited.

The groundwork is being laid, and the plan is mastered by hiding it (unveiling) in plain sight. Your concerns will be dismissed and neutralized (as attempted by Liz Daniels). Buses are possible nine of 12 trails.

Sustainable development is good, but learn how cities implement the policies in ICLEI’s Local Climate Action Plan and the Five Milestones for Sustainability, which includes universal healthcare, and reducing urban sprawl and auto dependency (more buses anyone?) and major investments’ dramatic impact on a jurisdiction. Wikipedia Tax Increment Financing (on property tax).

ICLEI’s (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) sustainability plan is a climate action plan. Chandler, Tempe, Goodyear, Tucson and Flagstaff are ICLEI members. Currently Fountain Hills is not, yet we’ve witnessed dramatic turns.

ICLEI implements UN’s policies that restructure our government through global and regional development. Policies take control from our representative government and put it into the hands of regional, non-elected boards.

A city’s involved with ICLEI if it obtains grant money, implements Agenda 21 policies and includes related budget items. ICLEI can be partnered with other organizations a statewide initiative.
