U.S. spending

Tirades against Congressman Schweikert, like last week’s letter in the Opinions section from Eric Landau, baffle me. Mr. Landau is clearly angry at Congressman Schweikert.

I have listened to Congressman Schweikert explain the problems with the federal budget several

times, and he makes perfect sense. If we don’t stop spending more money than we take in, we are headed for financial disaster.

No matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat, some of your pet programs are going to be cut, if we are to get spending under control, before we go off the “proverbial cliff.”

If you want a road map to where we are headed, read Argentina’s government spending history over the last 40 years. Argentina used to be a prosperous country, and now they can’t pay their bonds as they come due.
