The principle is that “Prices Must Always Rise.”

The two items on cost increases in the June 18 Times indicates to me that there is a basic economic principle that controls the prices of goods and services.
However, it is not widely known.
The principle is that “Prices Must Always Rise.”
There are several reasons for this. If business is bad, prices must be raised to recover lost income. If business and economy are good, consumers can afford to pay the increased price.
Also, management goals are to continually increase profits, and price increases is the easiest method to accomplish this.
