Posted

On Feb. 2, 2017 in the Town of Fountain Hills a good heart stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Velia Noemi Rodriguez. She was born on Aug. 4, 1945 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to the late Ramon Sr. and Dolores Rodriguez.

Velia is survived by her sisters, Ana A. Rodriguez MD and Miriam Rodriguez; her brother, Ramon Rodriguez MD; sister in law, Mirta; nephew, Juan Carlos and wife, Irma as well as her niece, Diana and her husband, Steve KlingByll and their children, Sebastian, Dominick, Isabel, Ariana, Santiago and Emilio; uncles, Angel Juan Rodriguez and family, Jorge Rodriguez and family; numerous cousins; her aunt, Mercedes and son, Luis Franco and family.

She was a very loving, kind and generous person who loved to dance. She enjoyed the company of her friends, line dancing at the Community Center and activities in the Silver Sneakers program. Family and friends were Velia’s passion and delight. (Something about life...could be) Velia kept the art of writing alive and those who were fortunate enough to receive her cards and letters agree that she will be missed and remembered forever.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb 7, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary 12065 N Saguaro Blvd. Fountain Hills, AZ 85268, 480-837-5588.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb 8, at 10:30 a.m. with burial services at 1 p.m. at Paradise Memorial Cemetery, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260
