Victim defrauded out of $100,000 in sheriff’s report

Deputies responded to the 15000 block of E. Thistle Drive where it was reported an unknown subject posing as a bank employee fraudulently coerced the victim out of approximately $100,000 on Friday, Sept. 4. 

Residents are reminded to exercise caution and not provide personal information over the phone. If a bank or other entity (such as a utility provider) calls requesting such information, end the conversation, look up the phone number for the bank/company and call them back directly.
