A man struck and killed as he was walking along Palisades Boulevard on Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, was identified by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office as William McNeal, 61, of Fountain Hills.
McNeal was walking along the eastbound lanes of Palisades Boulevard and was at Hampstead Drive, across from the high school, when he was struck. It was about 7:30 a.m. when the collision occurred.
MCSO reported the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies. Personnel from the Sheriff’s traffic investigations unit were called to the scene and had the eastbound lanes of Palisades closed for several hours while they collected data.
