Gun control is not the answer. The Second Amendment gives us the right to own guns. Altering or deleting it takes a two-thirds vote by Congress, and it must be ratified by three-fourths of the states. Forget about it.

The recent shooting in Oregon could have been prevented. All schools of all types need to install a perimeter fence with barbed wire on top. Then all entrances are locked from the outside only. There will be an armed security person or officer at the main entrance with a cheap ($250) hand-held metal detector. All persons entering will be scanned and backpacks and packages checked.

All 320,000 churches and synagogues get the same treatment. This would have averted the massacre in South Carolina. Another officer will go around the perimeter of the church looking for suspicious packages. Then park his cruiser in front. After all enter for services, the police return to protect everyone as they leave.

All 122 military recruiting buildings must have bullet-proof glass installed. Then large cement planters would be placed in front to avoid being rammed by cars or trucks. An armed recruiter would yield the same metal detector to check all who enter.

All military installations need to inspect all vehicles that enter and use the same four-foot high wedge that pops out of the ground like the Phoenix FBI uses, and install bullet-proof glass.

Movie theaters and theme parks must use the same metal detectors and check backpacks.

Malls need to lock all entrances from the outside only. People must enter through mall entrances only. All of this would have saved 23 lives.

I told this to the FBI on 09/30/2014 at 10 a.m. but they would not listen. A shame.
