Last week one morning at 7 a.m. I witnessed a lady in a little red car drop a lighted cigarette out her window and onto the pavement in front of my house.

Just as the wind pushed it into an empty field I was able to retrieve it and put it out.

One would think with all the publicity regarding fires lately that we would all be aware of how dangerous and irresponsible it is to throw a lighted cigarette from a car window.

Please smokers: Keep our neighborhoods safe. Use the ashtray in your car.
