Volleyball loses another close match

The high school volleyball team dropped another close match Tuesday evening, a road game against Scottsdale Christian with a 3-1 final result.

The local ladies fell behind in the first two games, losing to Payson 25-2 and 25-21. They bounced back in the third, however, claiming a convincing 25-9 win. But the momentum would not stay in their favor as Scottsdale Christian was quick to recover, coming back to win game four 25-15.

"The girls played a lot better than in the previous week," said head coach Brennan O'Connor.

"The girls played a lot better than in the previous week," said head coach Brennan O'Connor.

"We just made a few costly mistakes in a very close game."

O'Connor said that the evening's standout athlete was Jalin Yoder, who amassed a big 21 kills for the team.

"It's rare for a high school athlete to break 20 kills in a single match," O'Connor added.

"But Jalin really carried the team and did a great job for us."

The Lady Falcons' next outing is another road game this Thursday, Sept. 19, with a 6 p.m. match-up versus the Payson Longhorns.
