Volunteers needed to help relocate food bank in Fountain Hills

New location to open in 2026

Posted

The Extended Hands Food Bank is moving to a new location and urgently needs volunteers to organize, sort, clean and lift supplies and non-perishable food items.

Volunteers are requested for two-hour shifts on these three dates:

- Monday, Dec. 15

- Tuesday, Dec. 16

- Wednesday, Dec. 17

Some volunteers must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed and the goal is to have 15 workers for each shift to make things go as swiftly as possible, before the delivery and installation of walk-in freezers and coolers at the new location on Thursday, Dec. 18.

Many hands make light work and volunteers are asked to sign up online at calendly.com/allysoniverson1/new-meeting.

Volunteers who are signed up will meet each day at the Extended Hands Food Bank’s current location at 16548 E. Laser Drive, #8, to prepare items for transfer to the new location on Colony Drive, which is planned to open on January 1.

Groups are invited to wear their logo shirts, vests or hats so the food bank can promote  their work in photos and videos.
