OPINION — Fountain Hills deserves leaders who are experienced, ready to listen and focused on what actually matters to residents.
Like many of you, I'm frustrated that our town council has become derailed by division and political debates that have little to do with the real challenges facing our community. Our roads, neighborhoods, public safety — these are not partisan issues. They are practical ones that deserve practical solutions.
Before making Fountain Hills our home, I spent more than two decades in civic life in Wellesley, Massachusetts. I was first elected to Town Meeting and then reelected five times over fourteen years — my constituents trusted me to make decisions on budgets, zoning and infrastructure, much like the decisions our council makes here. I also served four years on the school board, including as chair, where I worked through difficult issues involving limited budgets, aging facilities and building consensus among people with strong opinions. That experience is exactly what we need here.
