Located on Fountain Hills Blvd. near Kingstree Blvd. is the Fountain Hills Botanical Garden, a true treasure for those interested in local native plants and want an interesting and easy hike among granite boulders, lichen, a granite outcropping and a water dam constructed in 1941.
Plant labels along the nature path identify the native plants and include pertinent information about each one. Interesting birds and animals can also be sighted here.
Unfortunately few residents are aware of this treasure because the hill behind the parking lot had to be carved away to make space for visitor parking. So the area looks desolate and bare, truly uninviting and hiding the gem that lies beyond.

The Fountain Hills Botanical Garden Society needs your help to correct this untenable situation. Please go to republicgivesback.com and vote with your recycling points to help us achieve a Republic Services Grant to redo this hill and make an interesting and attractive entrance to our wonderful botanical garden.
