For those of you who have not come to experience the Fountain Hills Botanical Garden, now is the time in the early mornings to see the birds in action. You even might get lucky and see a covey of baby quail. Remember to be quiet and listen. There are also some Verdin nests in the Palo Verde trees. They are tiny birds that are quite noisy and will surprise you with their loud call.
Ground squirrels are busy scurrying around the boulders and in the morning will be sitting in the sun warming up. They like to gather the seeds they find to munch on throughout the day.

We will use the money to enhance the parking lot because currently it is a cut in the hillside. It is unattractive and when it rains erosion causes soil to run onto the pavement. We plan on terracing the hill and use plants found in the garden so visitors will get a preview of what they will see.
