My husband & I moved to Fountain Hills in 2000. We were a couple in our 20s buying our first home. As we began searching, Fountain Hills quickly topped our list for the panoramic views, gorgeous fountain and quality schools.
Even though we didn’t have a family yet; we knew quality schools meant a better return on investment in our home. Quality schools and home values continue to go hand in hand today. This November we will be asked to continue our long standing support of FHUSD with an override.
At a mere $3 annually per $100,000 of assessed property value, property owners can help assure that FHUSD continues to offer the best education available.

FHUSD is excelling, too. AzMerit results have been released and the numbers speak volumes. Score highlights from Spring 2017 include; FHUSD third graders scored proficient or highly proficient at an increase from 49 percent to 65 percent in ELA and from 49 percent to 72 percent in Math. Statewide scoring is between 42 percent and 46 percent.
At the high school, a double-digit increase in students proficient or highly proficient in Algebra, increased from 47 percent to 57 percent between 2016 and 2017, compared to the state average increase of 36 percent to 39 percent.
Most impressively, Geometry students who scored at the proficient or highly proficient levels increased from 46 percent to 63 percent while the state average decreased 1 percent point from 35 percent to 34 percent.
The override will provide the much needed funds to offer our educator’s competitive wages so they may continue to lift up our students to excellence. The success of our schools is success for our youth and higher property values for all. Vote Yes on the FHUSD Override!
