I look forward each week of turning to the letters each week in The Times.
I also enjoy “My Opinion” columns that share the views of our elected officials. Therefore, I was surprised last week to see, “My Opinion” written by Frank Camacho. Nobody voted for this ex “stimulating” newscaster from Channel 3. He is now an unelected official with the Arizona Democratic Party. When he left his TV job he was quoted as saying, “We’re so divided and we’re so angry at one another.”
Here he is in our paper basically calling our elected Senator Michele Reagan a liar. Camacho doesn’t know Senator Reagan, I do. She is an honorable representative and the bill HB2305 is not radical. Many of the reforms it proposed are to increase the integrity of the vote and that should please everyone.

Camacho refers to information from the Secretary of State’s office about limited prosecutions of voter fraud cases. That may be so, but if I had bumped into the “Rock Burglar” Neese after he had broken into our house I wouldn’t have known he had burglarized 350 houses.
However, when one individual turns up at the polls with 400 “sealed” ballots it is not a partisan issue. I believe all good Americans would be suspicious. The potential of stuffing the ballot box is something none of us want. Voting is a right and a responsibility.
Sure, one has to make an effort to vote, but the power of an informed voter is the strength of our Democracy.
Further, Mr. Camacho I am sure was not a poll watcher last November observing long lines of voters casting provisional ballots. Elector rolls need to be regularly cleaned up, as they are in many states. It provides better efficiency and increases the integrity of our votes.
