We think the idea of creating a crystal lagoon in our beautiful Fountain Hills park and lake area is absolutely ludicrous and stand united with many residents’ opinions regarding this crazy idea.
We chose Fountain Hills as our permanent location/residence based on natural beauty, ambience and quiet atmosphere. Why ruin and commercialize the beautiful lake and park that our town was built around? Those that frequent the park do so for a quiet walk, picnic and to enjoy the beauty and ambience.
For all residents who live near the lake and in the heart of town, this lagoon would be an absolute nightmare. We’ll be opening up this beautiful town to a vast amount of problems and crime. Along with those issues, we don’t currently have proper infrastructure to accommodate snowbirds and the influx of people who will move here to fill the looming, four-story apartment buildings that dwarf town.

The board approved those, although many residents were opposed to the size. Also, consider additional influx of people who will move into the heart of town within the next five years due to future development that is scheduled.
Natural beauty, views and ambience are the reasons that our real estate is more valuable than many other areas in the Valley. Residents living here obviously want what Fountain Hills now offers. If taxpayers’ money is spent in unwise ways, residents could easily decide this town is no longer a wonderful place to call home. There are many other towns in the Valley and if decision-makers ruin the natural beauty, views and ambience, then all residents have the option to move out and move on.
The crystal lagoon would be an extremely expensive venture and total waste of taxpayers’ money.
