Water rate hearing set

The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) has set Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 as the date to begin public hearings into a proposed rate increase for EPCOR, Chaparral City Water Company in Fountain Hills.

However those wanting to intervene in the case or make public comment have only until November to present their comments to the ACC.

All motions to intervene must be filed on or before Friday, Nov. 1.

Intervention is filed generally by those with a substantial interest in the case, such as large water users.

Those who do file for intervention, and want to present testimony at the hearing along with associated exhibits have until Monday, Nov. 25, to file 13 copies along with the original to the ACC docket control center by 4 p.m. and mail a copy to each party.

Oral public comment will be taken the first day of the hearing. Written public comment may be submitted by mailing a letter referencing Docket # W-02113A-13-0118 to Arizona Corporation Commission, Consumer Services Section, 1200 W. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85007.

Copies of the application and rate proposal are available at the CCWC office 12021 Panorama Drive, Fountain Hills, or online at www.epcor.com and the ACC Docket Control Center at 1200 W. Washington, Phoenix for public inspection during business hours, or at the ACC website at www.azcc.gov using the e-docket function.

The hearing will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 in Hearing Room 1, at the commission offices, 1200 W. Washington St. Phoenix.
