Summer is officially upon us, which means water safety should be at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Whether you have a pool, are planning a trip to the river or simply like keeping a garden, this issue of The Times serves as something of a refresher course on aquatic concerns.
On page 12A of this week’s paper, you’ll find some summertime coverage concerning safety around pools. That’s where you’ll also find some reminders concerning West Nile Virus. Summer is when mosquitos start to swarm and it’s easy to forget that any standing water in your yard can serve as an inviting oasis to the little buggers.
We encourage everyone to give those articles a read, even if you’re already rolling your eyes due to hearing similar reminders each and every year. Some of the precautions listed are easy to forget. A quick reminder could quite literally save a life.
