As we speak, there are three desalination plants being built along the California Coast; Northern California, Santa Barbara County and San Diego. There are already two in operation now at Carlsbad and Catalina Island. These plants will take the salt out of water and pump it inland.

Two weeks ago I heard and saw on radio and television that Cape Town South Africa is running out of water. Today, April 6, I heard that they only have seven more days of water left. Cape Town is on the ocean. Why not do what California is doing? Millions are left without water. That is poor planning. It’s going to devastate real estate values and totally upset millions of lives, not to mention put real estate salespeople out of work.

If this kind of poor water management is not changed in the five western states now, we will be in trouble. This means taking a new look at what’s on the books (laws) in each town, including Fountain Hills, as to changing the current law on landscaping qualifications and water usage.
