Water war brewing in Fountain Hills

Neighborhood wants to preserve “riparian” environment

There is a lush stretch of wash that stretches along the northern boundary of the Morningside subdivision off Panorama Drive in Fountain Hills.

It has become the subject of contention between subdivision residents and the Town of Fountain Hills.

Residents are concerned that a new pump system the town installed is siphoning off water that nourishes wildlife and plant life in the wash along the north side of the subdivision property. The homeowner’s association maintains the wash as open space.
