Landscapes, florals, portraits and abstract paintings are among the wide variety of water media images ranging from realistic to creative patterns and textures.
In recent years, watercolor has expanded to include acrylic paints, inks and collage in increasingly unusual ways while also preserving traditional approaches. See new work by many award-winning painters whose work also appears in national shows and publications.

Selection of paintings for the show was by Jason Horejs, owner of Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale.
The Fountain Hills Community Center is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday if other events are taking place. Call 816-5200 for details.
There will be a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, where you can meet the artists. Many of the paintings are available for purchase.
Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona began in 1969, formed by a group of professional art teachers and accomplished artists who met first to paint together then critique their paintings.
Membership is held to 40 artists. New artists are added by invitation. Their work is in the field of watermedia where all the latest, most exciting experimentation and advances are being achieved.
