OPINION – I thought, as a member of Democratic Club board, that when we signed the submission form, we all agreed to the guidelines to display trees and wreaths in the Community Center. A move that our board wholeheartedly endorses and supports.
I am a Vietnam-era vet and I support our nation's military 100%. But it's a stretch to say that a tree honoring the branches of our armed forces has anything to do with woodland creatures. That said, I saw on a social media post that the town staff disallowed a portrait of the commander-in-chief to top the tree.
Just a thank you for drawing the line there. It will be appreciated by many folks in town.
