Weather Service warns of excessive heat

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for much of Arizona including the Phoenix area and Fountain Hills that is expected to continue into the next coming weekend.

The forecast calls for temperatures in Fountain Hills to top out at 109 late this week. However, temperatures across the Valley are expected to exceed 110 for much of the week. Overnight lows will drop into the 80s.

There is no rain in the seven-day forecast.

Weather Service warns of excessive heat

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for much of Arizona including the Phoenix area and Fountain Hills that is expected to continue into the next coming weekend.

The forecast calls for temperatures in Fountain Hills to top out at 109 late this week. However, temperatures across the Valley are expected to exceed 110 for much of the week. Overnight lows will drop into the 80s.

There is no rain in the seven-day forecast.

Residents are urged to confine outdoor activities to early morning hours and avoid the mid-day sun, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Be aware of the symptoms of heat exhaustion and take steps to avoid a heat emergency.
