Weather wonks warn of wet weekend

The National Weather Service is calling for a 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday this week bringing the first significant rain to the area since December.

The forecast calls for the rain to move in by Friday afternoon and linger into Sunday evening before clearing out early in the week. Precipitation could total up to an inch or more in parts of the Valley.

The cold front is expected to be preceded by breezy conditions beginning late Thursday. Daytime high temperatures are forecast to drop 10 degrees between Friday (72) and Saturday (61).
