The Lori Piestewa National Native American games are this weekend and, as part of the three-day athletic event, a cross country event will be held Friday morning, July 15, beginning at 6 a.m.
Organizer Todd Brecto has announced that this year's cross country races, which are divided into various age ranges, are open to all comers. There will be a 5k race and a two-mile run, both hosted out of the We-Ko-Pa golf course.
Participants should show up ready to run. Registration will be hosted on-site beginning at 5:30 a.m.
