Weekly report of Sheriff’s Office calls in Fountain Hills

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the following calls in District 7 based in Fountain Hills between Thursday, June 26, and Tuesday, July 1. Wednesday, July 2, is missing this week due to an early holiday deadline for The Times Independent.
Thursday, June 26
*Deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard and Ledferd Lane. The deputy reports the driver was traveling 50 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver’s license was revoked. The driver was issued a criminal citation, and the vehicle was impounded pursuant to statute.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the following calls in District 7 based in Fountain Hills between Thursday, June 26, and Tuesday, July 1. Wednesday, July 2, is missing this week due to an early holiday deadline for The Times Independent.
Thursday, June 26
*Deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard and Ledferd Lane. The deputy reports the driver was traveling 50 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A records check revealed the driver’s license was revoked. The driver was issued a criminal citation, and the vehicle was impounded pursuant to statute.
Friday, June 27
*Deputies responded to Marathon and Aspen drives for a reported single vehicle traffic collision. According to deputies the driver was attempting to avoid wildlife in the roadway and hit a mailbox. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed.
*Deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard at Ledferd Lane. Deputies say the driver was traveling 60 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*Deputies received a report from a business in the 9600 block of Saguaro Blvd. It was reported that a subject shoplifted a drink from the business.
Saturday, June 28
*Deputies responded to Saguaro Boulevard and La Montana Drive for a reported traffic collision. According to MCSO a driver made an improper turn and struck a trailer being towed by another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were towed.
Sunday, June 29
*A resident of the 16000 block of Monterey Drive reported that an unknown subject used the victim’s personal information without permission to apply for several credit accounts.
*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of Sheffield Court where a domestic violence assault incident was reported. Charges against a suspect were submitted to the Fountain Hills Municipal Court.
*A resident of the 17000 block of El Pueblo Blvd. reported that an unknown subject ran over the victim’s mailbox and fled the area without reporting the incident.
Monday, June 30
*Deputies made a traffic stop for criminal speed on Shea Boulevard at Eagle Mountain Parkway. According to deputies the driver was traveling 80 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Shea Blvd. where a vehicle caught on fire after experiencing mechanical problems.
Tuesday, July 1
*Deputies received a report that an unknown subject took items belonging to the victim that were left on the floor outside the front door of a business.
*Deputies made a traffic stop for criminal speed on Shea Boulevard at Arista Lane. Deputies reported the driver was traveling 76 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
*A resident reported that an unknown subject entered the victim’s vehicle and took several items.
*A resident reported that an unknown subject sent them a phishing email attempting to defraud them out of money.
