Regarding the 50th Vietnam War Commemorative…

Has it really been that long? How many of us remember those times? Those times really saw some changes in our great country. With the advancement of technology, the news media was able to report almost immediately. Like most stories from the media, not everything gets out to the public.

Our brave men and women who served truly represented a loyalty to our country. Many of those veterans will not speak of what they experienced. Whether that is due to the experiences that they went through while in Vietnam or the reactions that they received upon returning home, it has been a long time.

Although it is exciting to see the warm receptions that our brave soldiers have coming home recently, it is with honor and pride that I would like to invite any and all veterans (especially the Vietnam veterans) to the Fountain Hills Great Fair this weekend. Please stop by the beer garden that is sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars here in Fountain Hills.

Enjoy the refreshments, brats (we have folks coming back year in and year out due to their feeling that these brats are the best they have ever had), music, the chance to honor our veterans with the purchase of a Red Shirt Friday shirt and other activities.

I would also like to extend a personal invitation to our Vietnam veterans. Please come by to be recognized and to receive a pin and an official proclamation from the Department of Defense. As a Vietnam veteran I certainly understand and am proud to be able to meet you and greet you and welcome you home.
