After two waves of El Nino storms swept thorough Arizona early this week Fountain Hills has received more than an inch of rain.
Forecasters say the next wave of rain is expected to arrive later this evening and continue into Thursday. It is expected to bring similar amounts or even more precipitation.

Through Wednesday morning rainfall amounts at the Flood Control District monitoring stations in Fountain Hills ranged from 1.42 inches in Hesperus Wash in the McDowell Mountains near Dixie Mine, to .83-inch at Fire Station #1 on Palisades Boulevard. Seven of the nine ALERT stations received more than an inch of rain.
