Last week in a letter to the editor, Bob Deppe wrote (September 24):
“What a farce!
“Kavanagh distinctly answered each question, did not contradict himself and stated his position on the issues clearly. It is obvious that he is a conservative Republican.”

But does Mr. Deppe really know what he gets from Kavanagh?
When asked by an audience member at the Fountain Hills Tea Party forum who his top five campaign donors are, Mr. Kavanagh did not name not even one of them. Instead, Mr. Kavanagh described what looks a lot like he accepted money from a local businessman to twist arms at the Arizona Department of Revenue.
Mr. Kavanagh’s campaign reports show three big-time donors, a tobacco distributor, a Prescott firearms dealer who was implicated in the Fast and Furious scandal and the Automobile Dealers’ Association. All three of which gave him $2,000 or more for his campaign. All three have gained or stand to gain from their transactions with the current House Appropriations chairman.
We have a great alternative for our vote, Paula Pennypacker for State Senate, who is beholden only to us, her voters.
