I occasionally reminisce about my life’s experiences and conduct over the years. When my history comes face to face with today, I can’t help but wonder what happened.

How did America get to this point? Why do people talk and think in such mysterious obscurity? Why’s the national mood so inhospitable? Why are discussions and debates so intolerant? Are you following a like path?

I was encouraged to compete and better myself. Today, I’m not only discouraged but am often forbidden because of rules, regulations and those select individuals who think they know better than I what’s good for me.

History shows Americans began with an unwavering faith in God. Today, America has an unwavering faith in their pocketbooks. Respect used to be a virtue. Today, deception is the model. Has your progress been positive?

My core beliefs matched against today’s standards feels like trying to mix oil and water. I just can’t understand a society where life is not sacred, where laws do not apply to select groups of individuals and where truth is whatever each individual says it is. Like those standards?

My development was based on a set of founding documents, traditions and morality. I’ve tried, but can’t find any direct links or principles that follow a natural progression from democracy to socialism. What I find is a parasite (socialism) feeding off its host (democracy) with every intention of killing said host. Think democracy’s dying?

Henry David Thoreau: “What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?”

What happened? Did the enemy pass us by in the dark of night or will we discover we’re the enemy? Whatever the answer, only a fight will stop it. I wonder, is it too late?
