In response to Pastor Felten’s “Living the Question,” I am a Christian who believes in Christ’s Virgin Birth, in His resurrection, and that He is the Son of God.
Eleven men would not have suffered the terrible deaths they endured supporting a lie. Where is your evidence to deny this? You live with the questions (as the title of your article states), I am living with the answer. Christ is that answer, the evidence supporting God’s claim of His Divinity is overwhelming and will remain so for all eternity.
I also firmly believe that the Bible was divinely inspired. It is a collection of 66 books written by 40 different authors, over a period of 1500 years in three different languages, on three different continents. No book could have been written with a similar storyline, sharing a common message and with no historical errors unless it was inspired by God. Implying that God has become outdated is dangerously shortsighted.

Does your “progressive alternative” mean that you once held certain truths but have now progressed into a more “popular” way of thinking? Has our “wisdom” superseded God?
Show me evidence that our interaction with the world makes sense in the 21st century.
Has it grown more compassionate and loving? We are in a cycle of moral regression. Christianity’s violent past, how about man’s violent present? Until the God of the Bible reasserts Himself into the hearts of mankind, will we ever restore sanity to civilization?
Isn’t it also ironic that your article appears right next to the “Alpha” article that you so insensitively state provides the evangelical “pat answers?” What may appear as “pat” to one could be the truth for another.
With respect to the Alpha program, maybe the Truth is closer than one realizes. Come and see!
