What rights will the Fountain Hills council allow us to have?

OPINION – Well, Nov. 18, Mayor Friedel and Councilmembers Watts, Earle, Skillicorn and Larrabee trampled the residents’ ability to speak during the call to public. That means no resident will be allowed to come before this council and speak about subjects related to Fountain Hills that are not on the council’s agenda.

Is it a coincidence that it’s right before election season? Or is this all to avoid valid criticism of potentially unlawful and unethical behavior of councilmembers?

First was their attack on residents’  freedom to petition the government for redress. The majority voted to eliminate the residents’ ability to file ethics complaints against sitting councilmembers. They erased pending complaints, past violations and sanctions against Skillicorn.
