We've seen this movie at least half a dozen times, and the Titanic always sinks.
Why, oh why, did this majority on council dredge up the sign ordinance again at the Feb. 17 meeting? In 2022, when that majority recklessly repealed the entire law by not going through P&Z, even the Chamber, who represents realtors and businesses, said "Basta!" Of course, the council almost immediately had to reverse course.
And transparency? How on earth are "We the People" supposed to have our say when this agenda item had zero information on what they are proposing? Or will five councilpersons show up with a prepared ordinance in the form of a lengthy motion to slam dunk on unsuspecting residents?
