By the way, one of the topics that you knew would be back is cloaked as telecommunications, but it’s all about “5G.” It was just a matter of time (just three meetings into Mayor Friedel’s tenure) that this would be back on the agenda; the favorite topic of a few of Friedel’s supporters.
Despite legal warnings, I wonder if the council majority may still do something illegal when given another chance. They did the first time with their “moratorium.” The mayor wants to “designate a councilmember as a point of contact on this topic.” First, as a policymaker, that’s not a councilperson’s role, and it steps all over staff. And second, want to guess who he may have in mind? Can you say “Watts?”
