When caring for babies, think ‘P.A.R.T.’

OPINION — News has it that many of our tried, tested and more than wonderful childcare centers are closing their doors. While there are many and varied reasons for these closures, the effect is the same: not enough high-quality places for our youngest children.

While more options for preschoolers keep popping up all the time, many of these do not include programs for babies, and that is a big problem. What to do? A lot. First, become knowledgeable about early childhood and, next, make informed decisions based on your knowledge.

On the guidance side, all time a baby spends doing anything anywhere is important. Every moment is formative and makes a big difference. What that means is that parents, family members and all of their close friends are the ones who naturally provide the bulk of the loving support every baby needs. Therefore, taking advantage of that situation makes the most sense.
