In a previous letter to The Times, the writer said, “There is more honesty in one word of one tweet by President Trump than all of that anonymous op-ed piece of The New York Times.” The writer doesn’t understand the importance of whistleblowing.
Whistleblowing is a form of civil disobedience, and aims to protect the public from, in this case, government wrongdoing. There is an ethical and moral responsibility here.
Trump proves the point of the op-ed writer. He is demanding the Justice Department investigate the source of his latest narcissistic injury and believes the attorney general should be his employee to direct as he sees fit.

I don’t want this person to be found because he or she would surely be fired and who knows if anyone else would have the courage to stand up for sanity in the White House.
Some senior insider has chosen this as the time to stand up and share with us that the emperor, not only has no clothes, but he’s out of control and dangerous. I would love to know there is more than one person to stand up and share that they are more interested in preserving the values of our country than snuggling up with the occupant of the Oval Office.
Just when you think there aren’t any sane, brave, good people left in a nation that has lost its moral compass and sense of human dignity, the heroes come out of the woodwork to save the day.
