The Town Council meeting on Sept. 19 was very informative. The superintendent of the Fountain Hills school district gave an impressive presentation about the changes happening right now in our schools.
Our School Board chose the right person to get our schools in order and to create an exciting sense of what is coming. His knowledge and enthusiasm was well received by everyone in attendance. Even those who oppose the small tax increase seemed impressed with his updates.

Everyone should know by now that Arizona schools do not receive adequate funding from the state. Every school district in Arizona must beg local residents to pass bonds in order to have schools that are decently funded. It is a ridiculous system, but it is what the Arizona legislature has given us.
The Chamber of Commerce is on board with the bond because they understand that the additional revenue is urgently needed, and also they realize that the growth and success of local business depends on being able to offer top-notch schools to prospective families.
One thing is certain: if the residents approve this very reasonable bond, the whole community will benefit greatly from the results.
