I am not a lover of cats, though admit I am in a two-cat household and find they have “entertainment” value. However, I’m not a proponent of more cats out running around the neighborhoods causing accidents and howling in the night. Because of this, I’m voting for Fearless Kitty Rescue (FKR) to receive the Republic Services community grant.
My support is due to the work done to trap, neuter and release the stray cats and for helping folks find lost cats (a potential food source for stray animals and the cause of accidents on the road). Since the beginning of May, the folks at FKR have trapped, neutered and either released or placed for adoption nearly 20 cats and kittens – that’s in less than one month! Those 20 cats and kittens and their potential offspring would number over 140 more cats! No thank you!
During this same month, FKR has assisted five or more families search for, and frequently find, lost cats or locate the owners of cats which were lost. Get those cats back to the people who own them!
