William H. Hoy

William H. Hoy, 88, of Fountain Hills passed away on April 19, 2020. William (Bill) was born Feb. 11, 1932 in East Conemaugh, Pa. Bill is survived by his wife, Tressa; daughter, Kris; and sons, William (Bill) and Mark; as well as four grandchildren, Patrick, Brian, David, and Jennifer (Jenni); and a great-grandson, Landon. He is also survived by his brother, James (Jim); and sisters, Patrica (Pat) and Collette. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary-Ellen and parents, James and Irene.

Bill and Tressa recently celebrated 65 years of marriage in June 2019 with numerous family and friends. Bill was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in South Korea, as well as stateside. After he left the service, Bill received a Bachelor of Science in electronic engineering from Indiana Technical College and had a distinguished career in the then emerging semiconductor industry before retiring at the age of 73.

A private service was held at St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Cathedral on Friday, April 24, 2020. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of any flowers or gifts, the family asks for any memorial contributions, mass intentions, and donations to be sent to St. Stephen’s Cathedral at stsbcc.org/giving.
