William N. Schmid, 83, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Fountain Hills.
He was born April 25, 1928 in Wauwatosa, Wis. to Walter G. and Gertrude A. (Riedel) Schmid. He was raised in Wauwatosa; graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1946, received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis. in 1950.
H served in Korea with the 7th Infantry Division from 1950 to 1952. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Ward, on May 1, 1954 in Wauwatosa.
He worked for the Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee; the Edward Dalton Company, a Division of Mead Johnson Corporation, Evansville, Ind.; and KPR Food Brokerage Company, Fargo, N.D. until retirement in 1991.
He was a former member of “The Club,” served on the boards of Noon Kiwanis and the Historical Society.
He leaves his wife, Pat of 62 years; four children, and two granddaughters. Elizabeth Fiechter (husband, Harry) of Drake, Colo.; William P. Schmid (wife, Debra) of Bismarck, N.D., Pamela Roos and granddaughter, Leia Huck; Christopher P. Schmid (wife, Brenda) and granddaughter, Hannah of Fargo, N.D.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at the Anglican Church of Atonement, 11002 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Arizona Care Hospice, 12035 N. Saguaro Blvd., Suite 101, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.
