Wisconsinfest at Community Center Saturday

According to many Wisconsinites, that state has so much to love that they have created a special day to celebrate it in Fountain Hills.

The Saddle Bronc Grill is hosting the event set for Saturday, March 4, at the Community Center. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the fun continues until 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The event will celebrate all things Wisconsin: The Packers, the Brewers, the Badgers, the Bucks, Leinenkugel, Broasted chicken, Harley Davidson, and so much more. And even though the fest is hosted by Wisconsinites and people from Wisconsin will be out in force, the community is invited to participate.

Wisconsin is a diverse state with plenty of outdoor fun. Camping, fishing, hiking, golfing, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, skiing are all over the state. And the Cheeseheads do love their outdoors.

This year’s event will benefit ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and the American Diabetes Association. Saddle Bronc supports both of these organizations. Organizers of this year’s event said with additional hours this year they hope to have an even bigger turnout than in the past.

The silent auction will feature autographed collectors’ items such as a Green Bay Packers football, an Arizona Cardinals football and a Tiger Woods autographed framed Pebble Beach pennant. The Marquette University Alumni Association of Arizona will donate raffle items and will be on hand to talk to people about the school.

In addition to the silent auction, a raffle spinning wheel will be featured, as well as local and Wisconsin vendors selling apparel, homemade syrups, kettle corn, cheese curds and more.

Wisconsinites and wannabes can purchase broasted chicken and potatoes (from the Broaster Company), grilled brats and sauerkraut, chips and more. There also will be Leinenkugel and Miller Lite available for sale, along with soft drinks and water.

Bands and musicians from Wisconsin, as well as local groups will entertain throughout the day. Jeffrey Rath from Janesville, Wis., will keep activities rolling as emcee. Music will feature Dave Karl, Jym Caputo and Country Xrossover.
