An open letter to Mayor Kavanagh and Councilman Art Tolis.
You both have been displaying renderings of Crystal Lagoons showing lights and lasers at select groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, a country club, and other places that most of us cannot attend, purposely keeping us uninformed in violation of the Open Meetings Law, A. R. S. Chapter 3, Article 3.1, which states that these meetings..."must be open for the public with minutes kept...and any official can be removed for violation of this law.”
Also, lasers and lights would violate federal FAA and local dark skies laws. Is Mr. McGuire asleep on the job?

You are telling certain groups only that this lagoon will generate tax revenue from the public by bringing in thousands of people, but this town would not need this looney lagoon or a property tax if you did not foolishly waste money on such schemes.
This is not free market capitalism at work but crony capitalism, and we are not blind to the current corruption. You have wasted $38,800 of our tax dollars for a feasibility study that only offends us. As the residents become informed as to the motivation of the proposed foreign contract with Crystal Lagoons, they are not only outraged but disgusted with your behavior.
This town needs to live within its means and you do not have carte blanche to commit our money to funding a useless business that will only benefit your real estate and mortgage business, and a small number of business owners over the wishes of the majority. You are the antipathy of democracy.
And for Mayor Kavanagh to support your greed only shows how she is ignorant of her constituents’ thinking. Both of your names are on recall petitions.
