Wolborsky: Fountain Hills is perfect the way it is
How do you improve on perfection?
When I talk to local residents about Fountain Hills, all I hear are strong positives. The views are incredible, the weather is great, neighbors help neighbors, traffic is light and crime is low. We love the lake, running into friends at the supermarket and total strangers offering to help with a heavy package.
I have a friend who says, “If you could live anywhere in the world you wanted to…what part of Fountain Hills would you choose?” We all agree this town is wonderful and we all love it.

So why is the town staff and council continually trying to change it?
Why is it important to bring in industry, bring in more young people (school enrollment is already growing) and build more apartments? Is this just the town government being unable to live within its means and always seeking more revenue? Do we really need more revenue or do we just have to place our priorities first and be judicious in our spending?
Fountain Hills is unique and they are trying to make it commonplace. Do we want to be another Tempe, Scottsdale or Mesa?
You don’t fix perfection; you love it and you protect it.
