Madison Kauffman of Goldfield Ranch crossed the finish line of the Mongol Derby at 11:15 this morning, Aug. 14, in Mongolia. Riding with her and finishing in 9th place were Courtney Davis and her long-time family friend, Lisa Youngwerth, of Colorado. The heat of the day forced them to strip down to their undergarments. An Australian woman won the world’s longest and toughest horse race after riding eight days. Kauffman teaches at Sunflower Preschool in Fountain Hills.
