Woman killed in single-vehicle accident
Fatal rollover investigated
Posted
A portion of Tepee Drive remained closed near Richwood Avenue around noon Saturday following a fatal rollover accident.
Investigators said an elderly woman was involved in the crash, which occurred around 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Fountain Hills Fire units responded, and the sole occupant of the vehicle required extrication but was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Assistant Fire Chief Dave Ott.
The scene, east of Richwood, was turned over to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for the accident investigation. A fire unit from Fort McDowell moved into cover the town until units became available.
The woman's name hadn't been released as of noon Saturday.
