In a town sometimes polarized in its views, let’s agree we have in common a love for Fountain Hills. We want the town to continue to be the best place to live in all of Arizona. We have a chance to ensure this in August when we vote for town council. This August, our vote for Alan Magazine is a vote for the continued progress of Fountain Hills.
Alan, a current town council member, has worked effectively over the past four years for our citizens. Prior to that, he chaired the town’s Strategic Planning Committee. Alan holds a PhD and has worked effectively in various high-powered state and national organizations during the businessman phase of his life.
He’s one of the wisest council members; someone who carefully scrutinizes each proposal.

When ideas emerge, Alan questions details, he checks finances and he makes decisions based on facts. I’ve witnessed this at many town council meetings.
To prove my point, I have to look no further than the lagoon proposal this past year. When a majority of the council wanted to spend thousands of dollars to study a preposterous and costly proposal to replace part of Fountain Park with a swimming lagoon, Alan voted no. Soon after, when townspeople gathered to listen to the lagoon proposal, they also overwhelmingly voted no.
Like a wise father, Alan examined the idea, searched for the financial benefits, saw none and tried to guide the other members into the right thinking. Cecil Yates, currently running for town mayor, voted yes. He’d be much better off if he had listened to the wisdom of a man like Alan.
Vote for Alan Magazine to continue to fill his seat on our town council. He represents reassurance that, as a current insurance advertisement states, “We are in good hands.”
