Aug. 2 Fountain Hills Times, page 9A, “Vegas golf course could become Crystal Lagoon.” This article clearly spells out the type of city a Crystal Lagoon belongs in. A crowded, noise- and traffic-filled, unsafe, amusement park style city.
Wynn Resorts is considering closing a beautiful 38-acre golf course to build a water attraction. A Crystal Lagoon belongs in or near an amusement park like Disney or Bush Gardens Parks. Not in a quaint, charming, quiet, uncrowded, no traffic, safe and beautiful city like Fountain Hills.

I am asking the Town Council to cancel its feasibility study and hopefully get back some of the $38,800. Just think, we could have used the money to repair some of the cracking stucco in our town buildings. For $40,000 we could have repainted the Town museum and library and have money left over. How about repaving a cul-de-sac?
By the way, it used to be that when a capital investment is made in a new business, if the investment is fully returned within five years, it’s a good investment. The $4 to $6 million this lagoon would cost can never be made back.
When we elect Town Council members, we assume they know they are expected to take care of the priorities and necessities of our town first. We do not except them to turn our town into an amusement park destination. It appears that Mr. Tolis and some of our Council members don’t know what being financially responsible means. I will remind our town citizens of their failure to handle their responsibilities at the next election. Please continue to send in letters opposing the Crystal Lagoon.
