Members of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation will go to the polls Thursday, Aug. 15, to choose a successor to the late Dr. Clinton Pattea as tribal president.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The polling site is at the Fort McDowell Park and Recreation Center, 16402 N. Fort McDowell Road.
All enrolled tribal members 21 years of age and older may vote.

Yavapai to select Pattea successor

Members of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation will go to the polls Thursday, Aug. 15, to choose a successor to the late Dr. Clinton Pattea as tribal president.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The polling site is at the Fort McDowell Park and Recreation Center, 16402 N. Fort McDowell Road.
All enrolled tribal members 21 years of age and older may vote.
There will be four names on the special election ballot.
Candidates include Ruben Balderas, Raphael Bear, Gerald Doka and Nimrod Thomas.
Two of the candidates, Balderas and Bear, have previously served on the Tribal Council. Bear served as president.
