I hope you didn’t miss the Mayor’s State of the Town address at the Community Center.
Thanks to Phil’s, an excellent breakfast was served. The presentation, highlighted by the Mayor’s thoughtful summary and a video that showcased the work done by our remarkable town staff, was greatly informative. It reminded me that our little town has been through a lot of changes since its beginning.
Mayor Ginny Dickey is the perfect spokesperson for this event because she has actually experienced the changes throughout her many years here as a resident, volunteer and elected official. It also reminded me of all the controversial decisions made during the years that I have been a resident. Deciding on incorporation, allowing a Target store and choosing a single waste management company are just a few issues that got very heated and emotional!

Change happens, and fortunately we have mostly elected people to our Town Council that are capable of handling controversy with wisdom and integrity. We certainly lucked out with Mayor Dickey. She is a true representative of our community, and she has proven that she is capable of guiding the town through the crossroads of tough, emotional decisions.
